But, after seven months of purgatory, I was driving home from a pub quiz last night thinking how love (or kindness, humour, communication, admiration, call it what you will) just makes the world so much of a better place, and a determination just to write that down.
Yes, it is a counterpoint to hate, hate I have seen, hate which has not achieved anything apart from more hate, damage, and costs. But I don't want to dwell on that right now.
Last night I felt love, the love of sharing, the love of human interaction, the love of being alive, and dare I say the love of being loved? (I can't vouch for other people's feelings, but that's how it felt to me).
Don't get me wrong, it hasn't all been constant purgatory, but it just struck me particularly last night as to how nice people (and honey flavored JD) can be.
The pub was The Anvil in Darton, and the quiz is Tuesday nights at 8 PM.
