Chesterfield 2nds 25
Pontefract 2nds 10
PONTEFRACT had high hopes when they established a 10-0 lead ¡n the first half as Goodall, scored a try and Holmes two penalty goals.
But then an injury to Mike Parkinson unsettled the back division and a loss of concentration allowed the home side to gain the upper hand. The encouraging feature was a generally sound performance with good scrum and line-out possession, and a good spirit still shows.
Kidd did a lot of good work in the line-outs and Buck foraged well with Furniss.
