Trip to Amsterdam and 2014 Program

On Sunday 26th January I will be embarking on one of P&O's fabulous mini-cruises to Amsterdam and I would like to hold the 2014 QU12 championship on board. The competition was last held in 2008 when Mark Kerr beat Diane Hallagan, Pat Gibson and Kevin Ashman in a truly incredible competition. I am hoping to get a substantial cash prize for the winner plus trophies and the first qualification spot for the LSQ final. In 2014 the LightSpeed Quiz game will be qualifiers for the final at the end of the year, but more on that later.

The Victoria Hotel, Saltaire2013 Round 8 Sunday October 27th: The Victoria Hotel, Saltaire

192 Saltaire Road
Shipley
W Yorkshire

Salt's Mill and the canalThe Victoria is only two minutes walk from the Railway station, that has regular services from Leeds, Bradford and Skipton way. The thing about Saltaire is that it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site so is well worth the visit just to say you've been. Briefly a philanthropic industrialist built a model village for his workers with plenty of Park and churches. On the river Aire and the canal it is quite a beautiful place in the sunshine

Usual start time of 1 PM

Entry fees

£15 on the day - Don't panic! If you pay your entry in advance there is a £5 discount. In addition there will be a £5 return for a set of 60 bespoke questions (you might not use them all, in which case save the left-overs for next time). Easiest way is via paypal to my email steve_jm_kidd@yahoo.co.uk. Send a tenner, and it's a fiver back on the day for the question set.

Spectators are £2 per head.

All monies go into the prize fund

Trains run at 8 minutes past the hour from Leeds and takes less than 15 minutes, so the 12:08 is perfect. I might be on the one an hour before. It is not near a motorway so either way you have to get 'round Leeds or Bradford. But you're worth it.
