LSQ. It's like a house that I've got familiar with and grown to love and I've just opened a door into a room where I've never been before and it's full of treasures.
Simon, Ashton and myself came from south of the border, and two days before the event I thought it might be just us. WRONG! not only did Galen Chung and Brain Of Britain Mike Clark come down from way up north, but 15:1 Champion Dave Bryan, Niall Pringle, and Barry Haniford all came from Edinburgh along with Ewan McNaught's tip for glory, David Harris.
We were at The Voodoo Rooms, just a cock-stride from Waverly Station, and I don't think LSQ has had a better welcome, with a room to ourselves, overhead screen, jugs of iced water and glasses waiting for us on the table. Props to Ewan McNaught and the the very lovely Nicole. I was gob smacked by the quality of quizzing from the new guys, I might suggest that if this crew got in the same room as some of our other superstars we would condense into a singularity containing the sum of total knowledge
Please, watch the films as they are released, and do not look at these very provisional results for the time being
At the end of proceedings we went downstairs for a half and half, with Harris, Niall, Ashton and the fabulous Lucy, at the Cafe Royal, but I eventually had to go for my train. I was on it with about 45 seconds to spare. Such was my mind set after the blistering speed from all quarters in the afternoon was that that three quarters of a minute seemed like an eternity, I thought somebody had slipped me a Slo-Mo from Cersie Lanister's stash in the film Dredd.
