QU12 News 11, September 9th2007: Round Six: Newport, Wales, 16th September

QU12 2007 round six is the Welsh Championship, or at least the nearest thing you will get to an open competition to discover the best quizzer in the Principality. The event, as usual, starts at 1 PM Sunday, and will be at Pill Harriers Sports and Social Club, Court-Y-Bella Terrace, Newport, Gwent

Yes, I know I should probably spend less time writing questions and more time making sure people will enter, but, what the heck, I've just finished a cracking set and can now devote myself to persuading some of you to enter. At the moment the entry stands at:

Definites: Mike Abbott, Gwilym Owen, Rees Davis, Martin Dyer; Probables: Mark Labbett, Chris Rutherford, Barry Hines; Possibles: Herbie, Haley, George Sheldrick, four other names I can't spell.

Mark says it should be an easy hundred quid. Bring it on!

Please ring me on 07814 326 717 if you want in.

If you have any doubts about what you are letting yourself in for, check out the films. High quality contestants and loads of questions - what more could you want? - A massive team quiz with hundreds of pounds worth of prizes? OK then.. The day after at the same venue it is Trevor Parry's annual quiz fest, which is, to my knowledge the biggest, bestest open team quiz in the country bar none (QLL and Mersyside - open your events up!)

The fixture list is just about complete, if you go to Dates, there is a full list of venues

Thanks to a stroke of genius from Will Jones, Round two will now be twelve questions (as opposed to first to twelve). Now why didn't I think of that? The best ideas always seem so obvious in retrospect.
