QU12 News 18, November 18th2007: Events in Ireland, Kent, Scotland and Films

Film Upgrade

I am delighted to invite you to watch films at a host called "Blip TV". We all know and love YouTube, but unfortunately the clips are restricted to ten minutes, and because of size constraints, have to be reduced in quality. If you go to the latest film at blip TV I am sure you will enjoy the format - which is more like what I am aiming for. Clean, clear and uncut - I love it! Yes, I know, in Ireland the contestants were not miked up, and there are cameras and baldy heads and clutter all over the place, but the crack is something else. I will restrict the Blip TV entries to quiz related material, so why not subscribe? - Go to the bottom of the Blip TV page and use one of the methods shown - Let me know how you get on. I suppose some browsers operate differently (I use firefox), but I have discovered that sometimes when you click on the film itself (Perhaps a right click) you get the controls. Eventually I may be embedding these files in the web pages, but give us time!

As of now, Sunday Dinner Time the 18th November 2007 there are five films up; the entire Ireland Show with interviews, Round 10 Part 1, and a ten minute interview with Kevin Ashman - I don't know how it has happened but it has already had quite a few views, even though I haven't publicised it 'till now. If you wish to ask Kevin any questions, contact his agent, Peter Ediss. I hope the Rochester films will be up by this evening. Sorry about the delay, but I suppose I am still just about on schedule, given the intinerary. It also seems the QU12 pages are down at the moment, so apologies for that as well.

QU12 2007 round eleven

is to be held at The Railway Tavern, 129, High St, Prestonpans, East Lothian, EH32 9AX. (Telephone 01875 810 025) Click Here for a map. As usual I have not got any competitors yet (well yes, I have two, Mike and Cath, but it is Sunday the week before and now is the time to start). This last sentence will probably be edited through the week. Prestonpans is a small town steeped in history that gazes north over the Firth of Forth some ten kilometres east of Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh, so hopefully, there is a reasonable catchment for locals and incentive to attract people from out of town. Never mind the battle (21st September, 1745), it is a couple of miles to the West where Musselburgh Links is a former venue of golf's Open Championship and is the oldest continuously played golf course in the world (perhaps). I'm booking a round if anybody wants to join us.

It is lovely to get the messages of encouragement from everybody, but for my Christmas present could you join 123quiz.net and put the messages up there?
